WISTA Hellas monthly gathering that took place on October 21st brought members and friends together for a lively discussion on AI in shipping, exploring its applications, decision-making, trust and the human role.
Selected through our ๐บ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐โ ๐ฝ๐ผ๐น๐น and featuring three WISTA Hellas members on the panel, the event put our motto into practice: ๐๐ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐, ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐!
From commercial shipping to vessel operations, the discussion highlighted AIโs opportunities and challenges. But what truly made the gathering special was the remarkable engagement of our audience. The thoughtful questions and open exchange of views turned the discussion into a meaningful collective experience, highlighting the value of learning from one another and creating a space where everyone feels free to contribute.
Two key messages stood out: ๐ฒ๐ฑ๐๐ฐ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ถ๐ ๐ธ๐ฒ๐, ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฒ๐๐ต๐ถ๐ฐ๐ ๐บ๐๐๐ ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป ๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ต๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ผ๐ฝ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป. As we embrace new technologies, human judgement and critical thinking remain essential. We must learn to use AI without letting it do all our thinking for us or becoming โconfidiotsโ by blindly trusting its outputs!
