A new collaboration between WISTA Hellas and Isalos.net

A new collaboration was formally established between WISTA Hellas and Gratia Publications SA through the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation, on Friday, 5 February 2021. The MoC provides the framework for planning and executing joint activities aiming at enhancing and recognizing the role of gender diversity in shipping and providing the best possible information to youth wishing to have a career in the industry, irrespective of gender, on latest developments and prospects of maritime professions as well as the sector’s distinctive nature.

Ms. Elpi Petraki, President of WISTA Hellas co-signed the MoC with Mr. Charis Pappas, Editor in Chief, Isalos.net, on behalf of Gratia Publications and specifically of the initiative Isalos.net, at the association’s offices at the presence of Mr. Ilias G. Bissias, Director of Naftika Chronika/Isalos.net and the Members of the Board of WISTA Hellas, Ms. Elina Souli, Vice President, Ms. Elina Kassotaki, General Secretary and Ms. Christiana Prekezes, Treasurer.

Every suitable means of information and publicity will be used towards the accomplishment of the objectives laid out in the MoC and the synergies will include, among other, the organization and/or participation in joint awareness-raising events and webinars, conducting studies on social profiling of women in Maritime Academies and the projection of the accomplishments of the Greek shipping industry.

We, at WISTA Hellas, are looking forward to this new partnership, which comes at a challenging time for all in shipping but especially for the youth, who aspire to join this dynamic industry and the women, who constitute a valuable part of it.
