Pia Meling, Vice President of Massterly – a Kongsberg Wilhelmsen joint venture – shared the learnings from the projects that Massterly is involved in: the fully electric Yara Birkeland vessel which soon will start operating. It was also discussed how higher degrees of automation and a Remote Operation Centre can give cost savings and added safety for deep-sea vessels.
Massterly is the world’s first company set up to operate zero-emission, autonomous vessels. Their aim is to enable a shift in transport from road to sea; through cost-effective, safe, and environmentally-friendly logistics.
His Excellency Frode Overland Andersen, Norwegian Ambassador to Greece, addressed the event.
